The Same Coaching. Just Not in the Same Room

Trained anywhere in Ireland (and beyond) · One-to-one online coaching · Coached personally by John Dwyer

You don’t need to live near Naas to train with me directly. Online personal training with Health Compass means a plan built around your body, your equipment and your life, with me watching your form, reviewing your progress and adjusting your programme every step of the way.

ONLINE COACHING

You Still Get Me. Just Through a Screen

I’m John, the founder and coach at Health Compass. In the studio in Naas, I don’t hand clients off to a rotating team, and online it’s no different. When you train with me remotely, you’re still working directly with me: the same assessment, the same attention to your technique, the same honest feedback.

Generic programming is a disservice to the human body, whether you’re training in front of me or five hundred kilometres away.

I built this because not everyone can get to Naas three times a week. You might be working long hours in Dublin, living somewhere the nearest decent gym is your own spare room, or simply prefer training on your own time. That doesn’t mean you should settle for a generic plan or an app that never actually looks at how you move.
Before I write a single session, I need to understand you: your training history, your injuries, your equipment, your goals, and the life you’re trying to build all of this around. That’s true whether you walk into the studio or send me your first video from your kitchen.

ONLINE COACHING

Online Personal Training Is Built for People Who Want Real Coaching, Not a Generic Plan

This isn’t for everyone, and that’s the point.

This is for you if:

● You’ve tried fitness apps and found them soulless: no feedback, no real coaching, just a list of exercises.
● You’ve been injured before and don’t trust a generic plan to know what your body can and can’t handle.
● You’re a busy professional who needs training that fits around your work and travel, not the other way around.
● You’re a former athlete who wants to train with real structure again, not just get through a workout.
● You want to understand what’s actually going on with your body, not follow a trend.
● You’re ready for someone who checks in, watches your form, and actually knows your history.

This isn't for you if:

● You want a plan with no check-ins and no accountability.
● You’re not willing to send the odd video or message so I can see how you’re moving.
● You think pushing through pain is the goal rather than a warning sign.

HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

Assessment First. Programming Second

Your body has a history. Your goals have context. Your limitations aren’t obstacles, they’re data.

Before anything else, I need to understand you properly. That starts with a proper consultation, done over video or in person if you’re local, where we go through:

  • how you move, and where you’re tight, weak or compensating
  • any past injuries or things that flare up
  • the equipment and space you actually have to train in, whether that’s a home gym, a commercial gym, or resistance bands and a bit of floor space
  • your goals, and honestly, the reasons behind them

This isn’t a box-ticking exercise before I send you a template. It’s how I build a plan that actually fits you.

HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

Manual Therapy, Where It Helps

If you’re local to Naas, I can bring hands-on manual therapy, soft tissue work, joint mobilisation, into your plan to sort out tightness or restrictions before we load movement. If you’re training remotely, I’ll build in the corrective exercise work that addresses the same issue, so you’re not just pushing through discomfort and hoping it settles. You don’t push through dysfunction. You resolve it.

HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

Your Plan Keeps Changing, Because You Do

Your programme is reviewed every four weeks, based on your strength and performance numbers, how you’re actually feeling (energy, sleep, stress), video of your technique, and whatever’s changed in your goals or your life. This isn’t a rigid twelve week challenge that leaves you stranded at the end of it. It’s meant to keep evolving, the same way training in the studio does.

WHY 90 DAYS

Why I Ask for a Minimum of 90 Days

Real change, rebuilding movement patterns, undoing years of compensation, actually getting stronger, takes longer than a few weeks. I’m not interested in a quick before and after. I’m interested in something that holds up.

If you’re ready to commit to that, I’m ready to commit to you properly: a full assessment, a plan built around you, and the check-ins to back it up.

The Guarantee
Complete your first 30 days with full adherence and if you’re not seeing measurable progress, I’ll rewrite your programme at no extra cost. That’s not a sales line. If something isn’t working, we fix it.

FAQ

Common Questions About Online Personal Training

Do I need a gym, or can I train at home?

Both work. I build your programme around whatever you actually have: a full commercial gym, a garage with a barbell, or a living room with resistance bands and your own bodyweight.

What if I have an injury or a medical condition?

That’s exactly what the assessment is for. I work within your medical team’s guidance and adapt every exercise to what your body can actually handle right now. You’re not “difficult”, you just need a plan built for your specific situation, and that’s what I do.

How is this different from a fitness app?

An app gives you a template. I give you a coach who actually looks at your technique, answers your questions, and adjusts your plan when something isn’t working. Apps don’t watch your form. They don’t reply at nine at night. They don’t know if you’re in pain. I do.

I'm a complete beginner. Is this still for me?

Yes. I’ve coached people starting from absolute zero right through to experienced athletes. My job is to meet you where you actually are and build from there: no judgement, just steady progression.

I already train seriously. Can you help at that level?

Yes. If you need proper periodisation, peaking or injury management around competition [confirm specific sports/athletes to name here], that’s well within what I do.

How often do we actually talk?

Weekly check-in calls, unlimited messaging in between, and video feedback whenever you send through a lift. You won’t be left training in a vacuum.

READY TO START

Ready to Train With Someone Who Actually Knows Your History?

You’ve probably spent a while trying things: apps, generic plans, guessing your own way through injuries, wondering if you’ll actually get there. You will, with the right guidance behind you.
A discovery call is the first step, whether you’re training with me in Naas or entirely online. It’s a straightforward twenty minute conversation, no pressure and no hard sell, where we look at where you’re starting from and whether we’re the right fit. If we are, we start. If we’re not, I’ll point you somewhere that is.
Either way, you’ll leave clearer than you arrived.
